Design

Strijp-S: This former Philips factory site (also known as the Forbidden City) is now the creative heart of Eindhoven. With many trendy design shops and good catering establishments. (25 minutes walking / 10 minutes cycling / 10 minutes car)

 

Piet Hein Eek: Pay a visit to the famous designer Piet Hein Eek and enjoy design in his showroom, workshop and restaurant. (35 minutes walking / 13 minutes cycling / 12 minutes by car)

 

Kazerne: In this former military police barracks you will find a creative lab where design and art are developed, a restaurant with a courtyard and an exhibition space.

Musea

Philips Museum: you will find this museum on the spot where Gerard Philips made the first Philips incandescent lamp in 1891. A fascinating exhibition about the growth of Philips and the many products of the company. (4 minute walk)

 

Van Abbemuseum: including works by Picasso, Chagall, Kandinsky, El Lissitzky, Theo van Doesburg, Mondriaan and Appel. (8 minutes walk)

 

PSV Museum: relive the most important events from 100 years of PSV football club. (14 minutes walk)

 

DAF Museum: A dive into the history of Van Doorne's trailers to DAF Trucks N.V. With more than 100 vehicles from 1928 to the present day. (14 minutes walk)

 

preHistorisch Dorp: The open air museum of Eindhoven. Experience the past by going on a discovery tour yourself. Along the way, you will meet historical inhabitants from prehistoric times to the late Middle Ages. (30 minutes walking / 10 minutes cycling / 8 minutes car)

Urban Culture

The experimental character of the city makes Eindhoven a breeding ground for the urban culture scene. And you can see that throughout the town!

 

For example in the Berenkuil, which has become an open-air museum due to the collection of graffiti art. (30 minutes walking, 15 minutes cycling)

 

Dynamo youth center even has an "urban lab". (3 minutes walk)

 

And Eindhoven has an Urban Sports Park. (45 minutes walking, 15 minutes cycling)

Dive into the world of Van Gogh 

Just outside Eindhoven you will find Nuenen, the old residence of Vincent van Gogh. Here you will find the Vincentre museum where you can experience interactively how Vincent lived and painted in Nuenen. This museum is also the departure point for a walking or cycling route along 22 buildings and places that Van Gogh painted!
